Class 52(3) In a telescopic tubular stand 1, 2 having an internal axially displaceable rod 4, carried by the adjustable tube 2 and fitted with a rubber or like sleeve 6 radially distorted to jamb the tubes by a concentric spring 9, the release mechanism consists of a lever 13 with a cam head 12 movable in a vertical slot or slots in the tube 2 and having an upwardly facing notch forming a fulcrum 14 on the slot edge.
