Abstract

699,911. Heating and mixing charge. BAINBRIDGE, G. T. April 24, 1951 [Oct. 13, 1950], No. 25044/50. Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (iii) Combustible mixture flowing through an inlet manifold C is heated by exhaust gases through the medium of a copper plate A carrying heatconducting projections G, also of copper, which are brazed in place. The projections, which are in the form of pins, extend from one face of the plate approximately two-thirds of their length and one-third from the other face. It is stated that the pins improve the mixing of the fuel and air in the manifold.
