Abstract
699,777. Road-vehicle bodies; luggage compartments. AUTO UNION GES. July 4, 1951 [July 6, 1950], No. 15870/51. Classes 103 (ii) and 108 (i). A truck has chassis members 1, connected at their rear ends by a tubular member 2, and having outwardly projecting brackets 5, 6 to which are attached the outer longitudinal plate members 10 carrying the platform 9. The members 10 are connected at their rear ends by a further plate member 13 to which the inner wheel-housing walls 12 are also attached, and towards their forward ends by a transverse plate member 14 welded to the platform 9 and a bottom closure plate 15. The compartment formed by the longitudinal members 10, platform 9, plate 15 and transverse member 14 is readily accessible at 16 from the driver's cab and will accommodate a spare wheel &c.
