Abstract

699,071. Photographic processing apparatus. KODAK, Ltd. Oct. 13, 1950 [July 15, 1949], No. 18760/49. Class 98 (ii). [Also in Group XVI and XXX] An assembly of rollers for feeding photographic sheet material through a processing bath, comprises three or more plain cylindrical rollers of equal, or progressively increasing diameter from the supply to the delivery end of the assembly, between which the material is fed in an undulating path and which are disposed with their axes parallel to one another and alternately located on opposite sides of the path. The rollers 3 are driven consecutively in opposite directions, while the roller axes are separated by a distance greater than the sum of their radii plus the thickness of the material, any three consecutive rollers being so spaced from one another that the angle between the common internal tangent to the adjacent surfaces of two consecutive rollers and the tangent at the point of intersection of the common tangent with the surfaces of a third consecutive roller is not greater than 50 degrees. As shown, a sheet of photographic material 10 is fed by rollers 7 to the rollers 3 immersed in a processing bath 5, the sheet being delivered by rollers 8 driven faster than the rollers 3.
