698,956. Prefabricating buildings; door frames; floors; walls: chimneys GAFOBAU GES. ZUR AUSWERTUNG FORTSCHRITTLICHER BAUTECHNIK. Jan. 27, 1951, No. 2118/51. Classes 20(i), 20(iii). 20(iv) and 25 A prefabricating building comprises wall panels 1, e.g. of reinforced light concrete, of a height 2 at least equal to one storey, and having grooves 3 containing binding material 10. e.g. cement, for interlocking the panels 1, and floor and ceiling panels 5 of a length 6 at least equal to that of a room in the building, the panels 5 being supported by a foundation 4 or by panels 1 supported on the foundation 4. The foundation 4, in the case of the ground floor, or the panels 1 in the case of higher floors, have steps, as at 7, to support the panels 5, the steps 7 being of a depth less than the thickness of a panel 5 to offer support to the panels 1. The panels 1 may be secured to the foundation 4 and to basement parpartitions 8 by clamps or anchors and by hydraulic binding means. Double wall partititions 21 with internal insulation 22 may be provided, and the panels 5 are grooved at 3 similarly to the panels 1 and for the same purpose. The grooves 3 may extend right round both the panels 1 and the panels 5. Door or window casings, see Fig. 5 comprise steel members 13 or U, T or Z section, the legs 17 of which are anchored in the panels 1, e.g. by means of holes 18 in the legs 17 to allow concrete to pass therethrough. Hinges 14 and plates 15 with hooks 16 may be carried by the members 13. Chimney elements 29, Fig. 4. at least one storey in 'height, are superimposed to form a chimney. They are of light concrete with heavy concrete liners 30 which have annular recesses 31 to engage connecting elements 32. The elements 29, if they pass through the ceiling panels 5, have vertical grooves adjacent the panels 5 to receive mortar or cement.
