Abstract
698,659. Vehicle bodies. FORD MOTOR CO., Ltd. July 15, 1952 [Aug. 25, 1951], No. 17867/52. Class 108 (i). The diagonal braces between the cowl structure 16, 17, 18, 19, and the side sills 11 are formed by vertically extending sheet-metal panels 22, 23, serving as inner wheel-house panels and engine compartment walls, to which are secured L-shaped reinforcing members 31, thus forming with the channels 38 box-shaped passages for the transmission of ventilating air to the interior of the vehicle through suitably placed holes in the cowl structure. An opening 47 in the forward nearside brace allows for the insertion of a heating element and the upper surface of the offside brace may be adapted to support the battery. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification, 686,964, [Group X].
