Abstract
697,552. Drawing wire. SYNCRO MACHINE CO. June 15, 1951 [Oct. 14, 1950], No. 14269/51. Class 83 (iv). A strand-drawing machine comprises a primary driving unit 11 and driven units assembled together, each driven unit including a wire capstan 28, and is constructed in a number of essentially duplicate sections 14-16, linearly aligned with respect to each other, and each containing at least one driven unit. Each section comprises gearing 22, 23, 26, driven through a shaft 13 from the motor 11, and running in an oil - filled chamber G and driving, through an oil-tight seal 57 in the chamber wall 41, the capstan 28. A trough 30 provides a gutter for cooling fluid, and splashing is prevented by folding covers 31.
