Abstract
696,566. Gas turbine plant; axial-flow and radialnow compressors. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Nov. 19, 1951 [Nov. 17, 1950], No. 27056/51. Divided out of 696,555. Drawings to Specification. Classes 110(i) and 110(iii) [Also in Group XXIX] A control device for a dynamic compressor comprises a comparatively slow-acting blow-off regulator responsive to a predetermined relation between the difference between pitot pressure and static pressure in a venturi passed through by at least part of the gas delivered by the compressor and the gauge pressure in the venturi, and a quickacting opening means for the blow-off valve which is directly operatively connected to a control member, such as a throttle valve, for reducing the mass flow to a consumer. In the gas turbine plant described in Specification 696,555, a hydraulic relay (see Group XXIX) may be interposed in the quickacting control means for the throttle and blow-off valves of the compressor. In other respects the subject-matter is substantially identical with that of Specification 696,555, but the claims differ.
