Abstract

695.069. Upholstery. WILCOX, H. Jan. 14, 1952 [May 26, 1951], No. 12390/51. Class 52(iv) A mould and press jig for shaping and covering cushions &c. is provided with a resilient pad or diaphragm 4 across the mouth of the mould 2. The covering fabric 10 is held by clamps at the corners and the padding 9 and backing sheet 8 forced into the mould by the ram 15 deflecting the pad 4 the tension in which serves to equalize the strain on the fabric while its peripheral resilience at the mould mouth turns in the edges of the fabric as they slip from under the clamps.
