Abstract

695,026. Aircraft wings. BLACKBURN & GENERAL AIRCRAFT. Ltd. Aug. 31, 1951. [June 23, 1950] No. 15704/50. Class 4. In an aircraft having wings E which may be swung from a spread to a swept back position, the leading edge roots J are separately hinged at the point K so that on entering the fuselage these parts do not foul one another. The portions J may be displaced by a link N pivotted about the point O on the fuselage. Alternatively, an abutment S is provided on the fuselage so that as the wings swing into the spread position the portions J are opened against the action of the spring R. A curved guide T, co-operating with a slot in the wing E, may be provided. Specifications 665,171, [Group XXV], and 695,025 are referred to.
