Abstract

[Also in Group IX] A porous resilient bobbin on which rolls of cloth or piece goods are wound in preparation for and during fluid treatment thereof, and which may be of cylindrical, frusto-conical, or other form, comprises a helically wound base spring 10 and a springy wire 15 helically wrapped around each two adjacent turns of the spring, the links 16 so formed being en- 'larged radially to the axis of the spring to permit their radial movement on the spring. The material of the bobbin may be hard stainless steel wire. During winding of the cloth on the bobbin, a removable mandrel (not shown) is inserted to maintain the internal diameter of the bobbin at its maximum. Specification 467,015, [Group IX], is referred to.
