Abstract

552,504. Core-covering machines. CLAY, P. E. F. Oct. 8, 1941, No. 12971. [Class 109] In a machine wherein the core to be covered is passed through the centre of a supply bobbin for the covering thread, the thread 15 is applied to the core 11 by means of both a ring-spinner 17, 18 and a flyer 20. The ring may be fixed or rotatable, and may be received in a cup or other support 16a which rotates with the spindle 13 upon which the supply bobbin is mounted. The core may be passed through two covering stations in which the successive coverings are applied in opposite directions.
