Abstract

694,591. Lens turrets. PAILLARDS SOC. ANON. Feb. 6, 1951 [March 28, 1950], No. 2873/51. Class 97 (i). The lens turret of a photographic or cinematographic camera is pivoted to the camera front and has a support with one or more stop members slidable in a bore or bores therein in the direction of the pivoted axis for engagement with one or any one of a number of seatings in the camera front, the number of stop members and/or the number of seatings being equal to the number of lenses on the turret, and a spring device, the central part of which bears against the pivot, another part of which bears against the support to press it against the camera front and another part of which bears against the stop member or members. The support 1 of the turret shown is pivoted by a headed screw 3 to the front 2 of a cinematograph camera and has two bores 5 therein accommodating slidable stop-members 6 adapted to engage with seatings 9 in the front 2. The turret carries two objectives 11, 12 which may alternately register with the camera exposure aperture 13 and a recessed part 10 thereof accommodates a spring 7 which bears against the screw 3 and presses the support 1 against the camera front, and a spring 8 which urges the stop members 6 from their bores 5. The springs 7, 8 may be replaced by a single spring which may have the shape of a cross and which may have a longitudinal slot at each end of each limb.
