Abstract
The invention comprises the alkylamine and alkanolamine salts of 1,2-dihydropyridazine-3,6-dione (the mono-keto mono-enol and the di-enol forms of the dione are also referred to). The salts may be prepared by dissolving the dione in an aqueous solution containing one equivalent or more of the amine, or by the reaction of the reactants alone or in organic solvents, e.g. alcohols. Suitable amines mentioned are methyl-, dimethyl-, ethyl-, isopropyl-, dodecyl- and cyclohexyl-amine, and ethanol-, diethanol- and triethanol - amine. In the examples, salts are prepared from the three specific alkanolamines referred to above and dodecylamine. Polyvalent metals precipitate insoluble salts from solutions of the amine salts, e.g., the insoluble copper, zinc, calcium, barium, magnesium and iron salts.
