Abstract

691,407. Stenter clips. HEBERLEIN & CO. AKT.-GES. Jan. 3, 1951. [Feb. 11, 1950] No. 228/51. Class 42 (i). A faller for a stenter frame clip comprises a body in which are supported a plurality of jaws having edges extending beyond the lower edge of the body ; the jaws are substantially coplanar and are supported to allow limited individual movement in their plane, and a pressure-equalizing means is provided for joint engagement with the body and the jaws, for transmitting pressure in a direction, perpendicular to the engaging edges of the jaws from one jaw to another. The faller 12 which pivots about a spindle passing through bores in the bosses 10 and 11, has milled in it a narrow cavity 15, in which are located jaws 16, 17 having slots 18, 19, 20, 21 which embrace retaining pins 22, 23, 24, 25 fixed in the body of the pawl. An equalizing yoke 28 bears upon projections 26, 27 on the upper surfaces of the jaws 16, 17, and its mid-point is engaged by an adjustable screw 31. In a modified form, two pairs of jaws are provided, with an equalizing yoke for each pair, these yokes being in turn engaged by a common equalizing yoke upon which the adjusting screw bears.
