Abstract

691,185. Tanks; gasholders. CHICAGO BRIDGE & IRON CO. March 3, 1950 [May 18, 1949], No. 5427/50. Classes 54 and 69(i) A fluid storage apparatus comprises a shell 10, having a spherical upper section, a flexible diaphragm 13 secured across the interior of the shell along a substantially horizontal plane, the diaphragm having substantially the same size and shape as the portion of the shell above the said plane and control weight 14 located at the pole of the diaphragm. The apparatus may be fitted to a volatile liquid storage vessel as a breather vessel. The diaphragm may be of nylon impregnated with rubber.
