[Class 135] An air vessel 8 communicates with the interior of the bodv of a non-return valve on the outlet side of the flap 4. The air may be replenished from an auxiliary vessel which communicates through a three-way cock, either with the liquid in the valve body or the atmosphere, and through another cock, either with the vessel 8 or the atmosphere. Alternatively, the vessel 8 may have valves near the top and bottom. The vessel may also have a pressure gauge, a liquid level indicator, and a lifting eye.
