Abstract

689,937. Distributing liquids. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER. Feb. 5, 1951 [Feb. 11, 1950], No. 2824/51. Class 21 [Also in Group XXIX] A flow of liquid is divided into individual flows of predetermined proportions by causing it to flow as a uniform, coherent film over a surface, sub-dividing the flowing film by means arranged on the outside of the surface, and collecting each separate portion of liquid in an individual chamber. In an embodiment, a stream of liquid 1 is led to the top of a dome-shaped surface 2 over which it flows as a film, and the lower edge of the dome is turned up to form a gutter 3 to receive the liquid, the gutter being sub-divided by partitions 4 into separate compartments each of which has a separate outlet 5. In a modification, the lower edge of the dome is cut into a number of teeth each of which dips into a separate container provided with an outlet.
