Abstract

<PICT:0673985/III/1> Liquid distributing apparatus which may be used in fractional distillation processes, divides a liquid stream into two parts by causing it to flow through revolving jets on to a compartmented receiver, the area of the compartments exposed to the jets being variable to vary the proportions of the two parts. In one embodiment, the stream enters a revolving chamber D carrying the jets E. The base of the distributer is divided by partitions H1 H2, into compartments having drain openings A, B. A rotatable segmental chamber G communicates via an opening J with one compartment, this compartment receiving the flow from the jets, falling on G and on its area unscreened by G. The other compartment receives only the flow falling on its unscreened area. A pointer L indicates the position of G thus the flow proportions from A and B. A number of distributers may be connected to produce multiple division of the stream.
