Abstract

689,015. Skein holders. SLYDEL, Q. C. Dec. 20, 1951 [Nov. 12, 1951], No. 26423/51. Class 120(ii) Appliances for use in winding wool, silk and other material from skeins into balls, comprises two posts or members, each provided with an arm or arms adapted to be positioned at an angle to the post and to be positioned against or in the post and clamping means at one end of each post so that the posts can be clamped at a suitable distance apart to a support, for the arms, when projected, to receive the skein of wool, silk or the like. As shown posts 1 are of channel section and have slots 2 formed at their upper ends, through which slots arms 3 project, being pivotally connected to the posts 1 by pins 4. To the lower end of each post is secured a screw clamp 5. In a modification the posts 1 are secured to the clamps 5 by screws and fly nuts so that the clamps may be secured to the posts such that the appliances may be mounted on horizontal or vertical supporting means.
