Abstract

687,756. Diaphragm pumps. ENRIQUE CLAPES MASSONS. Feb. 1. 1951 [Oct. 17, 1950], No. 2536/51. Class 102 (i). In a diaphragm pump, a rod 8 carries an armature 7 of an electromagnet 4 and is supported by an elastic member 9 and also carries the diaphragm 20. The pumping chamber is isolated from the casing 3 by a joint 16 which acts as a further guide. The diaphragm 20 tapers towards its edge and co-operates with a plate 17 having holes 19 to form a valve. The inlet valve comprises a resilient ring 21 pressed onto an annular port by a flexible plate 22. The pump may be mounted on a float. Specification 685,143 is referred to.
