Abstract
687,395. Lens turrets for cameras. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. Aug. 3,1951 [Aug. 8, 1950], No. 18403/51. Class 97 (i). A camera has a lens turret comprising a number of arms for interchanging the lenses, the arms having handles provided with different grooves, ridges, knobs, or other extensions or recesses, which arms each occupy the same position when the particular lens with which each is associated is in the operative position so that the operator can determine by touch which lens is in such position. As shown in Fig. 1, a turret 2 carrying lenses 3, 4, 5, 6, is rotated by one of a number of arms 9, each having a differently-shaped handle 10. The number of arms need not be the same as the number of lenses, the absence of an arm being then characteristic of a particular position of the turret. Fig. 3 shows an arrangement in which each arm 9 is rotatable about its axis and has a pinion 14 engaging a toothed rim 15 provided on a ring 16 rotatable in the carrier and provided with teeth engaging gear-wheels 17. Each of the latter is coupled to the focusing or diaphragm adjustment of a lens, which can accordingly be adjusted by rotation of the appropriate arm.
