Abstract

1,076,080. Lens turrets. FERNSEH G.m. b..H. Oct.22, 1965 (Oct. 23, 1964], No.44789/65. Headings G2A and G2J. Four lenses 3, 4, 5, 6 are mounted on a rotatable turret 1, e.g. for a television camera. Each lens has an adjustable element (e. g. a diaphragm, or a variable-density filter) which is automatically adjusted to the same value as the lens is swung into the operative position, occupied in the drawing by lens 3. Each lens has a toothed diaphragm-adjusting ring 18, engaging a gear 19 on the same shaft as a pinion 16. Engaging pinion 16 is a toothed sector of a cranked lever 13 pivoted to the turret at 14. The other end of lever 13 carries a follower roller 12. Secured to the front panel 2 of the camera is a guide member 11, whose walls 26 flare outwards at its upper and lower ends. The position of member 11 can be adjusted radially to turret 1 by a rack 9 engaged by a motor-driven pinion 8. As turret 1 rotates to bring a lens into the operative position, roller 12 enters guide 11, and lever 13 is guided by the converging walls . 26 to pivot to a particular position, so causing the diaphragm of that lens to be adjusted to a particular setting. Thus whichever lens is swung into the operative position has its diaphragm automatically set to the same value as the previous` lens diaphragm. Fig. 2 (not shown) is a similar arrangement having a slightly different linkage between lever 13 and the diaphragm.
