Abstract

686,239. Refrigerating. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. June 29, 1949 [July 2, 1948], No. 17238/49. Class 29 [Also in Group XXVII] The invention relates to hot gas engines and refrigerating engines. A valve 9 which controls communication between a cold space 5 and either a control space 12 or a starting space 13 according to the position of cocks 14, 15 is operated by a cam 18 on the engine shaft and is opened periodically at the moment when the engine pressure is at its highest value. A separate starting device is not required since starting by compressed air will be possible through the communication means which serve for controlling the power output. Specification 9895/47 (as open to inspection under Sect. 91) is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, states that the invention can be carried out by means of slides and cocks. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
