Abstract
686,169. Sandblasting. SCHEMMANN, W. June 7, 1949 [Oct. 4, 1948], No. 15117/49. Class 60. [Also in Group XXX] Material to be cleaned is introduced onto a movable grate 4, Fig. 1, which intermeshes with a fixed grate 3 and is oscillated to move the material up the slope of grate 3 till it rolls down again and is finally discharged by a reversal of the motion, a stream 10 of sand cleaning the material. The grate 4 is driven from two pivots 5 and 6 rigidly secured to the grate and pivoted respectively in eccentrics 7 and 8. In place of pivot 6 there may be provided a roller support running over a vertical guide. In a further modification the movable grate 4, Fig. 6, is driven from two cranks 19 and 21 through links 17, 18 and 20. The apparatus may be used for conveyance along a straight line.
