685,888. Variable-pitch propellers. LAGREVOL, M. DE, and LABOUREIX, R. Nov. 22, 1950. [Nov. 29, 1949 ; Feb. 14, 1950] No. 28516/50. Class 114. The blade roots have weights 32 on arms 31 which produce by centrifugal force a torque lending to increase blade pitch, acting against a spring 15 contained in a sleeve 2. This sleeve is provided with a shoulder 12 which can engage the side face of weights 6 moving radially outward against springs, so locking the device against pitch decrease. The link connecting the blade root and the sliding sleeve 2 is adjustable in length and its rear end is situated behind the blade axis to give a substantially constant torque from the spring.
