Abstract

685,432. Windscreen cleaners. TRICO PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Sept. 5, 1951 [Sept. 20, 1950], No. 20982/51. Class 138 (i). A windscreen wiper arm has inner section and an outer wiper-carrying section which is telescopically adjustable lengthwise of the inner section and one section is of channelled-shape in cross-section to receive the other, and a cam lever is arranged in the channel and journalled transversely thereof for bearing upon the other section, wherein the cam lever has an active portion with a locking edge which is curved transversely of the arm. The cam lever 10, Figs. 1 and 2, has trunnions 11 engaging in apertures 12 in the side walls 8, 9, of the inner channel-section 3. A crowned locking edge 16 of the active cam portion 13 of the lever 10 binds against the outer arm section 4 which is guided over shoulders 18 formed by inturned portions 17 of the side walls 8, 9. In the locked position of the lever 10 as shown in Fig. 1 an intermediate heel portion 15 serves to act as a stop against the section 4. The locking edge 16 may be released by operating the lever at the portion 14. The arm section 4 has a stop 19 to prevent its complete withdrawal from the channel section.
