684,951. Mechanical wheel-toys. BAIGENT, Ltd., H. May 3, 1951. [May 8, 1950] No. 11452/50. Class 132 (iii). A track has a guide rail for a model vehicle which is slidably secured to the guide rail. Fig. 3 shows a model racing car powered., e.g. by an internal combustion engine, the car having on its underside and forward end a plate 17 which is fixedly connected to the pivoted front axle 8. Two pairs of rollers 4 engage a guide rail 3 formed of circular cross section rod and the front axle assembly is thus steered by the rail. At the rear of the car a pivoted plate 22 with rollers permits a limited lateral swing of the car's rear portion. Arcuate recesses at points in the circuit of the guide rail enable rollers to pass over the rail, thus permitting attachment or detachment of the car to or from the rail which may be mounted by means of brackets secured to the rail or by screws and spacers. The rail may comprise hollow split tube of which the edges are flanged to form supporting means. The rail may be other than circular in cross section when the track is unbalanced.
