684,829. Harvesting-machines. MASCHINENFABRIK FAHR AKT.-GES. Oct. 1, 1951 [Oct. 17, 1950]. No. 22805/51. Class 6 (iii). [Also in Group XXX]. A rotary helical stalk divider for a harvesting-machine comprises a screw body constructed from a tube or profiled rod formed as a helix having a cylindrical or conical envelope, a terminal conical member 7 and a deflecting device causing transported stalks to be thrown off onto the machine. As shown, the screw body is twisted in the opposite direction in the vicinity 1.2 of the upper end to form the deflecting device. In a modification, a radially extending rib is provided where the screw body 1 and the conical member 7 are joined. In a further modification, the member 7 is attached with its axis at an angle to the axis of rotation of the body 1. Several deflecting devices may be provided.
