684,641. Processing of developer-containing photographic materials. STEVENS, A. H (International Polaroid Corporation). Jan. 29, 1947, No. 20324/50. Divided out of 684,592. Drawings to Specification. Class 98 (ii). A processing agent is confined between a photo-sensitive layer having a developable image therein and a superposed layer of sheet material, and the agent is caused to permeate the photo-sensitive layer and develop the image by progressively squeezing together the layers the processing agent being so confined as not to wet the outer surfaces of the layers during the squeezing. The processing agent may be such as to develop a negative image in the photo-sensitive layer and to form a positive thereof in a stratum of the lamination comprising the layers and the processing agent, the agent including a film-forming substance capable of giving a solid film. Alternatively a layer of sheet material for receiving a positive print may be immersed in a processing agent and pressed on to an exposed photo-sensitive layer. The subject-matter of this Specification is substantially the same as that of Specification 684,592, but the claims differ. Specification 684,594 also is referred to.
