684,615. Mixing appliances. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. Dec. 21, 1950 [Dec. 22, 1949], No. 32874/49. Class 86 In a mixing apparatus, more particularly for mixing small quantities of powdered solids of substantially different densities, wherein a carrier for containers of the materials is arranged for combined oscillatory and reciprocating movement, the carrier comprises a body member 5 having cylindrical recesses 11 adapted to house tubular containers for the materials and having a slot 6 through which a cross rod 3 passes so as to support the body to permit the combined oscillatory and reciprocating movement which is imparted by'a rotating crank 8 through a connecting rod 7 extending from the body member 5. The body 5 is provided with a detachable closing plate 13 having resilient means for pressing on the ends of the tubular containers within the recesses 11. The body 5 has cut away portions 19 whereby the tubes may be viewed when in position in the carrier member. Specification 25701/01, [Class 86], is referred to.
