684,484. Gas meters. BEGWACO METERS, Ltd., BUTTERWORTH, E., and HINCHCLIFFE, E. J. July 20, 1950 [Aug. 10, 1949], No. 20789/49. Class 54. The case of a dry gas meter is made in two rigid parts, one part b being of box form comprising four sides (top, bottom, and two sides) and the back of the meter case, and the other part a, being a cover for the first part and forming the front of the meter. The gas inlet m and outlet k are formed integral with the box part b whilst the metering mechanism forms a unit which is housed in the box part and is bolted thereto around the gas outlet connection. Sealing of parts a and b is effected by the lip p, formed around the open face of the part b, seating upon the jointing ring o which is placed in the groove n provided in the face of the part a. The sides of the groove are converging and the jointing is secured by screws q.
