684,425. Speedometers. SOC. D'APPAREILS DE CONTROLE ET D'EQUIPEMENT DES MOTEURS S.A.C.E.M. April 28, 1950 [May 18, 1949], No. 10538/50. Class 106 (iii). The speed of a light vehicle, driven by an engine with a rotating part 1, enclosed in a casing, is indicated by a normally-inclined curved member 2 connected to the part 1 and displaced by centrifugal force against resilient means, the member having a sector 7 of a colour contrasting with that of the part 1, and visible through a casing opening 10 having a graduated scale on at least one of its edges. As shown, the member 2 comprises a wire ring acted on by springs 5 and having a straight portion 3 journalled in lugs of a fly-wheel rotor of an auxiliary motor for driving the front wheel of a bicycle. In modifications, incomplete rings are used, and are rigidly fixed to the rotor and displaced against their own resilience.
