Abstract

684,321. Agricultural implements. NEU, W. July 15, 1949, No. 18751/49. Class 6 (i). A cultivator comprises tines 27 mounted on a member 3 which slides on rollers 11 in a casing 9 and is connected to a spring 10. A depth, regulating wheel 1 is rotatably mounted on an arm 2 which is fixed to the lower roller 11 which roller is formed with gear teeth which engage with teeth 5 on the member 3. As shown, three tines are mounted on a shaft 15 which rotates in member 3 and may be angularly adjusted by means of a segment 19. Side knives 20 are mounted on a projecting arm 23 provided with a socket 24 which is slidably adjustable on the tine 27. The casing 9 is attached to a toolbar by means of a clamp 26 and bolt 28. In a modification, the arm 2 is pivoted at the end of a member extending rearwardly from the casing 9, the arm 2 supporting the member 3 by means of knife-edges on the member 3. In a further modification, the member 9 is formed with vertical grooves which co-operate with a guide on a clamp attached to the toolbar. Specification 602,809 is referred to.
