Class 52(iv) Oscillation of a resilient cushion G for motor vehicles is pneumatically damped by making the cushion air-tight and providing in the bottom A valves S which comprise a resilient leaf of metal or like material and which uncover progressively larger air passages as the pressure difference increases. As shown in Fig. 1, pressure arid suction valves are provided. As shown in Fig. 3, a single leaf acts both as a pressure and suction damper. The invention is also applicable to rubber cushions having a plurality of interconnected air spaces therein.
