Abstract
A process for grinding cellulose materials with water at elevated temperatures for the production of cellulose pulp, comprises mixing the material and water and subjecting the mixture to a grinding action at a temperature which under atmospheric pressure suffices to produce steam, the process being carried out with the application of such a pressure that the formation of steam is avoided. Temperatures of 120 DEG -140 DEG C and pressures of 2-6 atmospheres may be used with a mixture of about 10 per cent cellulose and 90 per cent water.
