Abstract

683,206. Tubular cartons. HOSKING, H. G. W. Sept. 7, 1950 [June 14, 1949], No. 15855/49. Classes 18 and 66 [Also in Group XXVIII] Tubes uscd in making carton bodies and formed by convolutely or spirally winding paper webs on a mandrel, have sealing strips 6 adhesively secured over the internal and/or external butt joints of the webs. Thermoplastic or thermosetting adhesive is used and the mandrel may be heated to receive the strips during winding. If the tube is to be lined internally with aluminium foil or the like, the strips 6 for internal seams comprise paper backed with foil. The cartons are formed by securing metal ends to sections of tube in known manner.
