Abstract

<PICT:0683105/IV (c)/1> Material in a dye bath is vibrated by an electromagnet to improve the dye penetration. Material from roll 22, passes over rollers 23, 24 and guide rods into the dyeing bath 2, thence over a roller 25 above the bath and back into the dye before passing out between rollers 26, 27. Electromagnets 14 vibrate the dipping frames 6, 7 causing rods 21, 29 to displace the material in the dye bath. The material is vibrated at a frequency of 25 to 1000 cycles per second with an amplitude of at least 0.05 inches.
