Abstract

682,932. Photographic apparatus. OLYMPUS OPTICAL CO., Ltd. May 31, 1951 [June 27, 1950], No. 12994/51. Class 98 (i). [Also in Group VI] A photographic apparatus for insertion into internal organs of the human or animal body, comprises a tubular bulb mounted at one end of a flexible tube and provided with an electric lamp to illuminate said internal organs, a lens aperture, and with a lightsensitive film mounted for displacement such that the lens axis is normal to the film plane, and a time switch mounted at the opposite end of the flexible tube, the arrangement being such that the internal organs can be illuminated and the film exposed for a required period. In the apparatus shown, the flexible tube 2 is of rubbercovered metal and has pivoted thereto at 10 a tubular bulb 1 and secured thereto at its lower end a sleeve 4. Bulb 1 houses a lamp 5, light from which passes out through a transparent part 27. A roll of film 7 is housed in a container 61 in the bulb and the free end of the film is connected at 16<SP>1</SP> to a wire 16 attached to a reel 15 on sleeve 4, the fihn plane being normal to the axis of a lens 9 disposed opposite an opening 8 in the bulb. The bulb 1 is urged in a clockwise direction by a spring .12 and the action of this spring is opposed by the tension in a wire 14, connected to the bulb and to a knob 13 threaded in the sleeve 4. Lamp 5 is connected to a current source 20 through a switch 19 and a time-switch 17 in the sleeve so that the lamp can be energized and the film exposed for a required period. The tube 2 extends through a sleeve 3 and may be inserted into the body cavity up to the neck 3<SP>1</SP> of this sleeve. It may be inserted further by holding sleeve 3 and pushing sleeve 4 and may be rotated about its own axis. A water or air inlet 22 and an outlet 23 are provided.
