Abstract
682,830. Transformers and inductances. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Dec. 6, 1950 [Dec. 9, 1949], No. 29858/50. Drawings to Specification. Class 38 (ii). A transformer or an inductance having an air gap is characterized in that the supports of the apparatus are secured only to those areas of the ferromagnetic part which, when the apparatus is resiliently suspended, owing to the operational current, perform movements which in no direction exhibit an amplitude in excess of 0.2 micron and which are preferably smaller than 0.1 micron or even 0.05 micron. The transformer or inductances have the supports located on a line which passes through the centre of gravity of the ferromagnetic part and which is at right-angles to the magnetic lines of force therein.
