682,373. Glass manufacture. SOC. ANON. DES MANUFACTURES DES GLACES ET PRODUITS CHIMIQUES DE ST.-GOBAIN, CHAUNY, ET CIREY. April 2, 1951 [March 31, 1950], No. 7625/51. Class 56. Comprises a process and apparatus for press moulding glass articles by delivering a parison on to an intermediate support, allowing it to spread thereon until i has assumed dimensions approximating to those of the main mould, and then inverting the support to transfer into the main mould the mass of glass thus obtained so that the surface of the glass that has not been in contact with the support will line the bottom of the main mould, the final shaping of the article being effected by the pressing action of a punch on the contents of the main mould. In the form shown the intermediate support 24 receives the parison 1 and, after the parison has spread, is inverted to discharge its contents into the main mould 13 which then moves to a position beneath a punch 33.
