A captive ball 4 of, e.g. sponge rubber is attached by an elastic or part-elastic cord 3 to a mast 1 removably mounted on a base 2 resting on the ground, the mast being made of telescopic sections a, Fig. 1, or of interfitting screwed rods or of two sections d, e having similar spigots, f, g, Fig. 3, so that the height of the ball can be adjusted. The part d may carry by a ball-and-socket joint a resilient or rigid extension rod 6 which carries the cord. The parts d and/or e may have a groove round the spigot round which the cord may be wound when stowed. The cord includes a swivel 5.
