Abstract

681,261. Holders for mops and brushes. ANDERSSON, J. A. C. Aug. 23, 1949, No. 21939/49. Class 61 (i). A device for holding a mop 1 or other cleaning implement and attaching it to a handle comprises a semicylindrical holder 2 carried by a socket member 5 and a retaining member comprising a bar 3 or bars fixed to the shanks 4 of a U-shaped member, the latter being passed through an arcuate slot 10 in the holder and held in position by a lever 8 pivoted on the socket. To allow the parts to be correctly assembled, the looped end of the shanks is arched. The handle 6 is held in the socket by a bayonet fixing which is locked by the lever 8. A brush, Fig. 8, is provided with upstanding lugs 12 having lateral apertures 13 in each of which is engaged the end of one of the bars formed by bending outwardly the shanks 4. The holder 2 may be reinforced by corrugations.
