Abstract

679,291. Dough-moulding machines. FOX, F. F. June 12, 1951 [June 13, 1950], No. 14740/50. Class 87(ii) Dough is moulded into roll or bun shape between a rotating disc 4 and a stationary coverplate 7. The coverplate has on its underside a spiral groove 10. Dough fed into the groove through an opening 11 is rolled around the groove to the centre, where it falls through a hollow shaft 2, to which the disc is secured into a shoot 12. The shaft is driven by worm gear 5, 6 and electric motor. The spiral groove is semielliptical in cross-section near the periphery and semi-circular near the centre, the two shapes merging into each other. The coverplate is releasably secured to the disc by studs 8 and wingnuts 9, the studs being pivoted on the base 1 of the machine and taking into slots in the coverplate.
