Abstract

679,051. Springs. MORRIS MOTORS, Ltd. April 2, 1951 [April 26, 1950], No. 10245/50. Class 108(iii) A resilient device for use in a vehicle suspension system comprises two interacting sets of springs constituted by rubber members A and coaxial metal plates B respectively. The rubber members A are accommodated in, and retained by, axiallyspaced individual pockets each formed by the co-operation of the outer portions of a pair of the metal plates. The rubber members A may be of circular, oval, or rectangular formation. The device may be interposed between retaining cups designed for coiled springs or, as shown, an attachment lug H may be provided. According to the Provisional Specification, the lug H may secured to the central zone of the plate B. The metal plates of each pair are welded together at C, and each plate may have a spoked formation in order to increase its resiliency.
