Class 136(3) A spring suspension, particularly for the front wheel of a motor cycle comprises a housing 1 arranged on each front fork containing a plurality of springs 5, 5a, 5b arranged between the wall of the housing and a circular projection 7 secured to the wall of the housing and bearing, or capable of bearing at the central portions of their ends on flattened upper and lower surfaces of an arm 4 pivoted at one end on a hub 3 mounted in the centre of the housing 1 and engaging with the wheel axle at its other end. The extreme portion of the ends of the springs bear on stops 6 secured on each side of the arm 4 to the housing 1. Normally the spring 5 has its end in engagement with the arm 4 and stop 6 and the other springs 5a, 5b are stepped at the central portions of their ends at 8 and 9 so as to provide a progressive action. The inner wall of the housing 1 may be packed by a resilient material, or may be shaped to obtain a further progressive action.
