A castor with a spring-loaded shank 7 telescopically mounted in a tubular leg 9 is retained by an expanding bush 14 at the upper end of an axial guide rod 12. The bush is expanded by a grub-screw 24 which may lie wholly within the leg which is provided with an access hole 27.
