Abstract

674,662. Hand trucks. O'BRIEN, D. P. March 13, 1950 [Jan. 30, 1950], No. 6204/50 Class 108(i) A hand truck comprises a body 1 having two wheels 2 at the front and a castor wheel 3 at the rear, four rollers 4 projecting slightly above the surface and beyond the sides of the body 1 and arranged to engage rails 9 on a stand 6 or the like, an upright handle 5 at the rear of the body and means 10 for locking the stand to the body. The rear of the truck is lifted to the position shown and run under the stand to lift it from the ground for transport. When the wheels 2, which are situated at about one-third of the length of the truck from the front, pass beneath the centre of gravity of the stand, the castor wheel 3 may be lowered to the ground and the stand 6 easily moved over rollers 4 to engage a notch 11 in the catch 10.
