674,655. Fumigating; pesticides. DUX, E. F. W. Jan. 31, 1951 [Feb. 8, 1950], No. 3271/50. Class 81 (i). An insecticidal or pesticidal body comprises a wrapped filter tip rod impregnated with a substance which at normal temperatures gives off an insecticidal or pesticidal vapour. The rod is a paper-wrapped, longitudinally crimped or rolled wad of crepe paper, open at both ends, of the kind made on a filter tip making machine for use in the production of filter tip cigarettes. The rod may be impregnated by dipping into the molten substance, or a solution thereof in a solvent such as acetone. Suitable substances are e.g. p-dichlorobenzene and/or naphthalene. Specification 437,746 is referred to.
