Abstract

673,420. Typewriters &c. KUSTER, W. March 22, 1950 [April 26, 1949], No. 7175/50. Class 100 (iv). A small typewriter of low construction has key-levers 6 which are pivoted at one end 5 to the bottom portion of the typewriter frame 4 each key-lever 6 being connected between its ends to an intermediate lever 12 also pivoted at 14 to the bottom portion of the frame, the intermediate lever 12 being connected by a draw bar 13 to a type-lever 1 and the key-lever pivot 5 being arranged nearer to the keyboard than is the type-lever pivot 2. The plane 7 of the top of the keys 8 is inclined as shown in their inoperative position and upon depression pass through the horizontal to an equal and oppositely inclined plane 7a and transmit movement through driving pins 9 coacting with slots 10 in one arm of the intermediate levers 12. The position of the pins 9 are nearer the pivot 14 e.g. pin 9<SP>1</SP> according to the length of the keylevers to equalise for the smaller angular movements of the larger keys. The key-levers are guided by a comb 15 arranged in front of the uppermost row of keys 8 which have a forwardly projecting section 16 for engagement with the comb.
